OUR MISSION is to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal peoples in an urban environment by supporting self-determined activities which encourage equal access to, and participation in, Canadian Society; and which respect and strengthen the increasing emphasis on Aboriginal cultural distinctiveness.
The Friendship Centre Movement has been built over the past 60 years by leaders in communities across Canada.
These women and men have built a network of community centres whose sole purpose is to care for people in their communities.
The following Friendship Centre pioneers have made a tremendous contribution to the national Friendship Centre Movement. We are honoured to have worked with them, and to be a part of the legacy they have created.
